I find myself with plentiful energy this morning and the babies are sleeping in, so I thought I would dive back into these writing waters for a moment. They’ll wake up any minute now so let’s not waste any time!
How is everyone doing?
Here in New Mexico we are doing…well, not as bad as some other states, so I’m thankful for that. But our governor’s set to address the state this afternoon and I have a feeling she won’t exactly be doling out the high fives. We’ll see.
In the meantime, I’m running and momming — ugh, I don’t like that verb — and doing my best to, as Glennon Doyle says, keep serving the peanuts. Sometimes I drop those proverbial peanuts, sometimes I throw them, but hey, we keep trying.
I’m still kind of training for a fall half-marathon, although it likely will be by myself, and I haven’t picked an exact date yet. And I’ve begun to let go of certain time goals based on how my legs have been feeling.
But, my God, it feels good to have a goal to work towards. It feels good to think about the future positively.
It also feels good to be writing here again. Apologies for today’s brevity and formlessness, but thank you for bearing with me! Wishing you each a good day, relief from the heat, and relief wherever else you need it.
